2011 | April | One Piece, chapter 622: While rocking his newborn daughter Shirahoshi, Neptune, the giant merman king of the underwater Ryugu Kingdom, receives adventurer Fisher Tiger after his latest journey and is told of the enslaving of merfolk by human elites on the surface, much to the despair of normal-sized queen Otohime, who is trying her best to promote the coexistence of humans and merfolk. As years pass the relations with human authorities are strained as Fisher Tiger creates a merfolk pirate crew in order to free slaves. |

May | One Piece, chapters 624-626: Fisher Tiger has been killed by the human Navy in an ambush and his crew breaks into moderates and a radical faction vowing vengeance against mankind. Noble Myosgald Saint arrives to retrieve his former slaves, who decide to take revenge, but Otohime takes the bullet in his place. As Myosgald tries to kill her Shirahoshi cries, unknowingly unleashing her power to control giant sea monsters, which storm the scene to protect the queen. This attracts the attention of villanous pirate Vander Decken, who decides to make use of her. Otohime escorts Myosgald to the surface and manages to return with an agreement allowing merfolk to live in the surface. But she's killed apparently by a human sniper, with extremist pirate Hody Jones showing his corpse to rally the merfolk against humans, while Vander Decken uses his devil fruit power to turn anything he throws at one person into a guided missile on Shirahoshi in order to eventually force her into marriage. |

2012 | February | One Piece, chapter 657: Luffy's crew arrive to Punk Hazard, a half-frozen half-scorched island with a with a former research facility of the World Government, following a distress signal. Nami, Sanji, Chopper and Franky are abducted in their ship by people in hazmat suits and wake up inside the facility. As they escape, they finda group of giant children with differing sizes in a nursery room. |

March | One Piece, chapters 658-661: The Strawhat Pirates learn that the children are supposedly being treated in the facility, but after they ask them for help Nami persuades her crewmates to rescue despite their own predicament. After knocking out the hazmat-clad guards they all flee together, but in the entrance they meet pirate lord Law Trafalgar, who seems to own the place, and an army division led by their pursuer, Smoker. As they retreat Law uses his devil fruit ability to swap the Strawhats' minds among their bodies. |

April | One Piece, chapters 663-664: The group manages to escape the facility and after finding refuge in a cave they regroup with Luffy's group, which has captured pirate Brownbeard, who turns out to be a henchman of the facility's actual chief, Caesar Clown, and talks them about his supposedly altruistic experiments. |

May | One Piece, chapters 665-668: After carrying out tests Chopper finds traces of a stimulant drug in the samples and learns that they were given candy in the lab and that they were all normal-sized before they were brought to the island. As they start suffering from physical withdrawal the larger kids go into a frenzy so Usopp puts them to sleep with his sleeping gas pellet and tie them with metal chains while trying to figure out how to save them. They eventually form an alliance with Trafalgar Law, who tells them that Clown is resuming on his own an old World Government project on creating giant humans for military purposes. |

July | One Piece, chapters 673-675: Nami and Usopp are left guarding the children while the other infiltrate the lab. Eventually the children wake up and break the chains, and as Caesar Clown appears in the cave to retrieve them they join him in a hallucinating daze after brushing Nami and Usopp off, who desperately try to avoid it but but are nearly killed by Clown's gas devil fruit powers. As they arrive back to the facility Mocha, one of the kids, manages to overcome the syndrome and realizes the situation they're in. |

October | One Piece, chapters 683-686: As Caesar Clown spreads a poison cloud through the island both the Strawhat pirates and Smoker's marines storm the facility in order to save the children, arrest Caesar and escape the island before the building is filled with the gas. Chopper is unable to keep the children from eating the candy even in his monster form, but Mocha takes it and runs away, pursued by them.

November | One Piece, chapters 687-689: Cornered, Mocha sacrifices herself by eating all the candies, amounting for a lethal overdose of the drug. The marines take advantage of the children's shock at their friend's condition to sedate them and make them regain their senses, while Chopper takes Mocha to the facility's surgery in order to save her.

December | One Piece, chapters 690-693: The group reaches the escape pod as Luffy defeats Clown and Chopper has Mocha carried there after he gives her an emergency treatment.

2017 | May | One Piece, chapter 866: Linlin Charlotte, an extremely strong and gluttonous 5 year old as large as the children of the Giant race, is abandoned in their main island, Elbaf, by her human parents as they aren't able to handle her extremely dangerous fits of anger when she's hungry, during which she loses her consciousness. There she joins the orphanage held in the Warland village by corrupt human nun Carmel, who secretly sells the children to the military. She befriends Gerd, who would also go on to become a pirate, while Gerd's future captain Hajrudin trains to become a warrior. But during the Winter Solstice fast she goes into a rampage and destroys the village. |

June | One Piece, chapters 867-868: Jorl, one of the two leaders of Elbaf, is killed by Linlin in her rampage. Carmel, knowing she would be payed a fortune for such a powerful fortune, manages to persuade leader Jarl to spare her life and they are banished instead. But the trafficker ends up being devoured along with the other children in one of Linlin's eating frenzies, leaving her thinking she has been abandoned again once she comes back to her senses. She is then adopted by a pirate who realizes her potential, and under his influence she becomes increasingly cruel as she rises as one of the world's main four pirate lords. |
